Questions people ask before they hire us.
Money
What does it cost?
The prices are on the pricing page. A home page starts at $650, a service page at $350, a 1,000-word blog post is $190, a sales page starts at $900. "From" covers a page of up to about 500 to 800 words, or up to about 1,500 for a sales page. Longer pages are quoted.
If the prices are published, why do I need a quote?
Because the quote is where the final number gets written down. The starting prices keep it from being a shock, but page count, word count and how much you've already got on paper can move the figure. The quote is free, and it's good for 30 days.
How does payment work?
50% deposit when you accept the quote, and the balance within 14 days of delivery. Projects over $2,000 can be split 40/30/30. We invoice by email, and nothing is paid through this website.
Do you take rush jobs?
Sometimes. If you need it in under 5 business days, it's +25%. Under 48 hours, +50%. We always quote the rush first, and if we can't do it well in the time, we'll say so.
What if I'm not happy with the copy?
There's no money-back guarantee, and we'd rather say that plainly than bury it. What you get is two rounds of revisions, and a conversation if something's off. If you need more rounds than that, they're $85 an hour, quoted first. If you cancel, the terms set out what's owed.
Timing
How long does a project take?
A single page or blog post takes 3 to 5 business days. A sales page or email sequence takes 7 to 10. A site of 4 or 5 pages takes 2 to 3 weeks. The clock starts when the deposit and your materials are in.
How many revisions do I get?
Two rounds. A round is one consolidated set of feedback, sent within 14 days of delivery. If the notes arrive in dribs and drabs, that counts toward the rounds, so it's worth collecting them first.
Rights
Who owns the copy?
You do, once the invoice is paid in full. We assign you the copyright in writing. Until then you have permission to review it, not to publish it. We keep our drafts and working notes, and we only show your work as a sample if you've said yes.
Do you use AI?
People write and edit every piece. We don't deliver machine-generated drafts. If we use an AI tool for research or transcription, we say so. We don't paste your confidential material into public AI tools without asking.
How we write
Can I see samples, and are they real clients?
You can see eight. They're not real clients. We wrote them for this site about businesses that don't exist, and each one says so. When we show client work, it'll be with permission and labeled that way.
Will it sound like us?
That's the job. Send us two or three pages you like and one you don't, and tell us how you talk to customers. We write the first draft, you mark what's off, and we fix it in the revision rounds. If you want to see how we think before you commit, send a page for a free review.
What do you need from me to start?
Your goal for the copy, your audience, a couple of voices you like, the facts and claims you can stand behind, and one person who has the final say. A call helps, but a written brief works too.
Can you write about health, finance or legal topics?
We can write the copy. You approve every claim, and you check it with your own counsel where the rules are strict. We're not lawyers or doctors, and we may flag a claim that looks risky, but that's a courtesy and not a legal review.
The free review
What does the free copy review include?
A written critique of one page, from a person, within 3 business days. It tells you what we'd change and why. It's not a rewrite, it needs no card and no contract, and you're under no obligation to hire us. If you'd like to know what fixing it would cost, ask and we'll quote.
The studio
Where are you based, and can we meet?
Redmond, Washington, at 18691 NE 56th Ct, Unit BB. We work with businesses across the US, mostly by phone and email. In-person meetings are by appointment only, so no walk-ins.
Will you sign an NDA?
Our terms already keep your non-public information confidential for 3 years after the project. If you need a separate NDA, send us yours and we'll read it before signing anything.
Rather talk it through?
Call and ask. A real person picks up, Monday to Saturday, 8 to 5 Pacific.
